Orange Cake With Chocolate Topping

May God bless all of us more with what is truly essential in life: Stronger spirit, brave heart, healthier body, endless love, and God’s grace in abundance this Year. God Bless and a great New year ahead.
Happy New Year!.
This year’s first post is an Orange Cake. I swear this is a tremendous cake that I ever baked. So I kept it to post on New Year Day. Actually I wanted to post it early in the morning but I had a busy morning today. I wanted to take snaps after slicing the cake too, I sliced and kept the cake on the table and went to take the camera, when I came back my son was sitting in front of it and started having it, so I thought not to disturb him, I kept back the camera and my daughter and I accompanied him. The main taste is the chocolate topping and I used snickers for that and as it is a peanut filled chocolate, when the peanut as well came on the topping it was really amazing.
Ingredients
Plain Flour: 2 cups
Eggs: 4
Sugar: 1 ½ cups
Vegetable Oil: ½ cup
Baking Powder: 2tsp
Fresh Orange Juice: ½ cup
Vanilla Essence: 1tsp
Snickers (chocolate) 57g: 2
Milk: ¼ cup
Method of Preparation
Preheat your oven to 350° F (180° C). Grease the baking tray and keep aside.
With an electric mixer or by hand, beat together the eggs and sugar until thick. Gradually beat in the oil.
Stir in the flour, baking powder and salt, and then the orange juice. Beat until smooth, and then add vanilla essence.
Pour the batter into your prepared pan, and bake for about 40 minutes, or until the cake tests done.
Meanwhile prepare the topping. Heat a non- stick pan, add milk to it, cut snickers into small pieces and add it into the milk. Keep in low flame until it fully melts and becomes thick and sticky.
When the cake is slightly cooled, apply this chocolate mix on the top and sides of the cake.
Allow the cake to cool. Slice and serve…..

The layers of chocolate and green whipped topping come together to make a very tasty treat. If you want more mint than sweet, you can delete the cookies and just use the mint patties for the garnish. This dessert looks wonderful when you set the glasses out in front of each person at the table.
